About ICAR-CIFRI

ICAR-CIFRI is the first Institute established in India in the field of inland fisheries research, extension and training, which has been celebrating its 75 years of dedicated service to the nation. The Institute has an impressive track record of providing research support for the country's inland fisheries development since its inception in 1947. Technologies developed by the Institute have paved the way for aquaculture development and blue revolution, sustainable production enhancement from reservoirs and wetlands, health management of rivers and associated ecosystems, fisheries resource assessment and database development, human resource development in inland fisheries, etc.
